A quiet return

It’s been a while. A year, perhaps a little more, since I last wrote here. The pause was unplanned but needed - a gentle drawing of breath, a stepping back to make space for all that life throws at us.

In the time away, I’ve found comfort in the slower days. In early morning light spilling onto the kitchen table, in small seasonal rituals, planting bulbs, cooking supper for friends, rearranging familiar things to make them feel new again. All the little, ordinary moments that often get missed in the rush.

But over the past few months, I’ve felt a quiet nudge - a tug towards returning. To words, to ideas, to Object Story. Though the business itself remains mostly paused, I’m ready to begin sharing again, slowly and with intention.

This journal was always more than just a page on a website. It was a place to gather thoughts, celebrate beauty in the everyday, and connect over shared values, simplicity, care, craftsmanship. So I’ll be returning here with new journal entries over the coming months - small stories, reflections, perhaps a few behind-the-scenes glimpses as I gently explore what might come next.

There will be news of our lamps soon - something I’m both nervous and excited to share. But for now, just a simple hello. A marker in the ground to say ‘I’m here again’.
