a metro sign in Paris

Last month, we embarked on an exciting adventure from Stroud to Paris for a whirlwind trip to collect our eagerly awaited order of mouth-blown glassware from the renowned La Soufflerie. Despite it being such a fleeting trip, we made every moment count and created lasting memories that we will cherish.

Our journey started with a drive from Stroud to Paris, there's something so exciting about road trips, isn't there? After seven hours in the car, a ferry journey and countless stops in service stations, we arrived in Paris greeted by the warm rays of sunshine, casting a golden glow on the iconic streets of the city.

We stayed in the historic neighbourhood of Le Marais, which charmed us with its narrow streets, quaint cafes, and unique boutiques. As the sun set, we stumbled upon a cosy restaurant tucked away in the alleys of Le Marais, where we indulged in delicious food (notably a famous chocolate mousse!), and toasted our Parisian adventure, savouring the moment.

The following morning we couldn't resist indulging in the Parisian cliche of freshly baked croissants while sitting in a boujee cafe, watching the locals go about their day, dressed in chic spring outfits.

Of course, the highlight of our trip was our visit to La Soufflerie. The workshop, located on the outskirts of Paris in Gentilly, was a treasure trove of hand-blown glassware.

We couldn't wait to bring these exquisite pieces back home and showcase them in our collection and we'll share more about the traditional art of glassblowing in a future journal entry.

As our short but sweet trip to Paris came to an end, we bid farewell to the city with a heart full of memories and a camera full of captivating photographs.

Au revoir, Paris! Until we meet again.
