A beautiful everyday mug for your morning tea or coffee.

Sturdy, with an ergonomic handle, this mug is thrown by hand on a potters wheel in Cornwall using local clay. The partial dolomite glaze brings out the iron in the clay body lending a slight hint of blue.

The bottom of the mug is left unglazed, which gives a wonderful earthy feel - this object is truly a pleasure to hold in your hand. One of our absolute favourites here at Object Story.

Leach Pottery

Founded in 1920 by Bernard Leach and Shoji Hamad, the Leach Pottery is among the most respected and influential studio potteries in the world.

The charity continues Bernard's legacy by making the handcrafted Leach Standard Ware tableware and training the next generation of potters from across the globe in their historical studio nestled away in St Ives in Cornwall.

"there is a unity of design and execution, a cooperation of hand and undivided personality, for designer and craftsman are one" Bernard Leach, A Potter's Book, 1940

Each mug, jug, bowl and plate and pot is thrown on the potter's wheel, using local clay, each pot is a unique expression of the potter's skill and intention.
